Photograph (pre-1941) of the interior of the church of St Dunstan in the East church with X marking the place of Sir John and Lady Moore's memorial.
St Dunstan in the East is in the City of London, where Moore lived.
The Church was badly damaged in the Great Fire of London and partly rebuilt by Wren before Moore's death. It was partly rebuilt again in the 19th C. The church was badly damaged in WWII bombing in 1941. Wren's tower and steeple survived. The church was not rebuilt and the ruins were turned into a public garden. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Dunstan-in-the-East for further details.
An image of the memorial and the wording can be found in our digital collection at SJMD2024.1
