Congratulations to our Local History Café Extended Group who received a Highly Commended Award in the Volunteer Team of the Year category in the recent Leicestershire and Rutland Heritage Forum Heritage Awards.
In March 2020, our Local History Café Extended group were volunteering by supporting open days, collection care, encouraging new museum visitors, and research. Since lockdown, the group has bonded more strongly through shared memories and support, and continued their volunteering through social media, a newsletter, research and developing new exhibitions.
As lockdown eases we hope to reengage with a wider range of activities. We are always pleased to welcome new volunteers so do get in touch if you would like to learn more.
